To one who has been long in city pent, 'Tis very sweet to look into the fair And open face of heaven, - to breathe a prayer Full in the smile of the blue firmament.

~ John Keats, Sonnet XIV

Founded in 2001, Christfort Ranch lies North of San Francisco Bay near Round Valley and Mendocino National Forest. The Ranch's 1500+ acres range from flat pastures to oak studded knolls, and from dense pine forests to the boulder-strewn beaches of the Eel River. Both flora and fauna are many and varied. Deer and rabbit are daily visitors, with more shy inhabitants like bear and coyote leaving subtler traces through tracks, calls, and skat.

The Ranch is home to fledgling agriculture as well, including a vineyard, several Christmas tree groves, and an organic garden for vegetables and flowers. All are spring fed through a series of solar-powered pumps and managed through sophisticated wireless technology. This technology allows us to remotely monitor and control irrigation via the Internet, and provides powerful analysis so that we can improve our quality and yield naturally through water management calibrated to the unique requirements of our land.

This is just a glimpse of Christfort Ranch, and of our vision of creating a wildlife ranch prototype that finds an unconventional balance between preservation and progress. Welcome. We look forward to sharing our journey with you.
